Judy’s husband, Rick, died in 2010. He was 55, she was 51 and they were just a few months away from celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. At that time, there was no Plan B, as she was looking forward to continuing to work at their shared business and then living the exciting retirement years that they had planned together.
Rick was not on this earth any longer, yet Judy was, and over time she realized that something good had to come out of her devastating loss. Moving to White Bear Lake in 2015, five years after her husband passed, was a positive new start for her. Soon after that, she felt called to start a Widow Might Connect Group in the White Bear Lake area in 2017, and has been leading this group ever since.
Judy retired from her job in late 2023 and joined the Widow Might Board of Directors in February 2024. She is honored to serve God and widows through this unique ministry of connecting and encouraging.
Besides volunteering for Widow Might, she often takes care of her grandkids, is involved in her church, serves on another Board, loves getting together with friends and tries to go for a nice walk each day.
